Born in 1981, he studied composition at Seoul National University with Shinuh Lee (Bachelor), the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Beat Furrer (Master), and Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Johannes Schöllhorn (Konzertexamen).
He has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as ensemble mosaik, Curious Chamber Players, Helsinki Chamber Choir, ensemble hand werk, and Trio Catch. His works have been featured at major international festivals, including the Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music, impuls Akademie, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, ISCM World Music Days (2015), Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik, and Warsaw Autumn. In 2015, he won the 1st prize at the 2nd Internationaler Nikolaus Fheodoroff Kompositionspreis.
His work explores the interplay between intricately layered acoustic sounds and spatial resonance. As repetition and transformation intertwine over time, constantly reconfiguring into new outcomes, his music forms a fluid sonic flow. He is currently based in Seoul.
