Born in 1981. Studied composition at Seoul National University with Shinuh Lee (Bachelor), University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Beat Furrer (Master) and Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Johannes Schöllhorn (Konzertexamen).
He attended and received master classes from Unsuk Chin, Jukka Tiensuu, Georg Friedrich Haas, Raphaël Cendo, Chaya Czernowin and Brian Ferneyhough, among others. He had regularly collaborated with PPCM Ensemble under the direction of Klangforum Wien during his Graz period, and also worked with renown ensembles such as Avanti! Chamber Orchestra (FIN), ensemble mosaik (GER), Curious Chamber Players (SWE), Helsinki Chamber Choir, Ensemble Ascolta (GER), Schola Heidelberg, and neoN Trio (NO).
His works were selected and performed at various music festivals and composition workshops, such as Sävellyspaja (2011, FIN), Time of music (2011, FIN), 5. Junges Deutsches Komponistenforum (2011), Franz-Liszt-Stipendium Weimar Composition Workshop (2012), 46. Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music (Reading Session, 2012), "Voix nouvelles" Composition session in Royaumont Abbey (2012), Impuls Akademie (Young Ensemble in Residency, 2013), Dian Red Kechil International Young Composers Residency (2013, Singapore), Gaudeamus Muziekweek (2013), musikprotokoll (2013), and mise-en music festival (2014, New York). In 2014, he received "STARTStipendium" für Musik und darstellende Kunst (Bundeskanzleramt Österreich).
